PURPOSE:To effect automatically renewals of road maps of different reduced scales, by setting preliminarily a plurarity of points conducting enlargements and reductions in road map informations and checking simultaneously said points during the course of computing the existing spot. CONSTITUTION:In a navigator conducting an overlapped display of an existing spot of a car as a running locus on map informations displayed on a color CRT screen, a plurality of points 405, 406 assigned to enlargements and reductions are set preliminarily. For example, for passing a street district 401 of different reduced scale from the existing spot 407, a microcomputer computes the existing spot and it is displayed on the map. And, during computation of the existing spot, computation is made as to arrival or not at a point 406 at the same time. Upon judging in the affirmative, the display map changes from reduced to enlarged map automatically. |
