SLURRY COMPOSITION FOR PRECISION CASTING

PURPOSE:To improve fluidity and to shorten the drying time of a slurry compsn. for precision casting by specifying the content of a phosphate type surface active agent. CONSTITUTION:The slurry compsn. for precision casting is constituted by using refractory powder and water-base colloidal silica as essential components and incorporating the phosphate type surface active agent therein at 0.001-5.0wt% per the total weight of the slurry. The drying time is thereby reduced. The viscosity is equal to the viscosity of a standard formulation. A shell having a prescribed thickness is obtd. with the same number of coating as for the conventional slurry.
