PURPOSE:To form non-magnetic layers uniformly to a predetermined thicknesses and improve the abrasion resistant and impact resistant characteristics of an electromagnet device by a method wherein beads are formed in a contact surface between a spacer plate and a movable core or a fixed core and the width of each bead is approximately equal to the thickness of the spacer plate. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of stripes of spacer plates 4 are placed on the movable core side surface of a fixed core 1 and welded to the positions shifted from the pole contact surfaces between the movable core 3 and the fixed core 1 by laser welding and fixed so as to contact thin film non-magnetic layers 4c with the surface of the fixed core 1. In the laser welding process, the applied laser beam penetrates into the base material of the fixed core 1 through the spacer plate 4 and melts around the applied point and creates a bead 5 by resolidification and the spacer plate 4 and the fixed core 1 are welded together with the bead 5. In the laser welding process, the bead 5 is so provided as to make the width W of the bead 5 at the contact surface of the fixed core 1 approximately equal to the thickness T of the spacer plate 4.
