PURPOSE:To display an abnormality message on a display without initiating any interruption to a CPU by providing a display memory for abnormality message display. CONSTITUTION:A display controller 11 consists of the display 13, a display memory 12, the display memory 14 for message display, an abnormality occurrence signal line 101, and a reset signal line 102. If abnormality like LOW or Battery occurs, the controller 11 reads a message out of the ROM of the memory 14 with a signal from the signal line 101 and displays it in the lower area of the display 13. When an operator confirms the message and generates a reset signal by operating a keyboard, the reset signal is sent to he controller 11 through the signal line 102 to reset the image surface on the display to the original state. Consequently, the abnormality message is displayed on the display device without interrupting the processing of the CPU.
