A curtain rail assembly comprises a rail 11 with upper and lower, forwardly extending flanges 12, 14 and 9 separately formed bar 24 secured to the lower flange 14 so that the rail 11 and bar 24 together define a runner guide groove 36 with the bar 24 defining the front wall of the groove 36. As shown, the bar 24 has upper and lower flanges 30, 26 engaged over the lower rail flange 14 and optionally secured by adhesive. In another embodiment (Fig. 2) the upper and lower rail flanges (40, 42) are disposed inwardly of respective upper and lower edges of the front face (50) of the rail 11. Rails 11 of the two embodiments may be interconnected by interengagement of their respective flanges 12, 14 and (40, 42) to trap the curtain between the two rails. |
