PURPOSE:To prevent the deviation from a prescribed position due to the dead load of an objective lens when an actuator is arranged in a lateral direction by making a side fixed to the objective lens shorter than the side fixed to an actuator main body for the horizontal distance of right and left suspension springs. CONSTITUTION:For right and left suspension springs 2, a tip side is a little (about 20-40%) shorter than a base edge side in the horizontal distance. When an objective lens 3 is deviated in a tracking direction (right and left directions in the figure), the suspension springs 2 (compared with the case when right and left are arranged in parallel) are forcibly deformed, and therefore, the resistance force comes to be larger. Namely, the stiffness in the tracking direc tion of an objective lens supporting member composed of four suspension springs 2 comes to be larger, and for such a reason, even when the actuator is arranged not in the horizontal direction but in the lateral direction, the deviation from the prescribed position due to the dead load of the objective lens 3 is far little. |
