One pane (1) is of hard glass with a thin transparent electrically conductive layer (3) on its side facing the second pane (2). The conductive layer is connected to two collector leads (4,5) located along opposite sides of the pane. Two leads (6,7) connected to the second pane (2), at a distance from each other. They are also connected partly to each of the collector leads (4,5), and to the poles of a voltage supply. A third pane of glass (26) is fitted between the other two. The leads (6,7) in the second pane (2), on connection to the voltage source, conduct current even when the current circuit (3,4,5) in the first pane (1) is broken, and are concealed by a cover sheet or layer with electrically insulating properties. The distance between the leads obviates flash-over which might otherwise occur at a normal voltage of 220 V. |
