The field of application of the invention is end face mills fitted with indexable inserts. The face cutting tips of the end face mills are arranged on a disc-shaped face cutting tip carrier releasably connected to the basic body and provided with centring and driving surfaces. The aim of the invention is to develop an end face mill with an interchangeable, disc-shaped face cutting tip carrier which can be manufactured cost-effectively at a high production accuracy. The object of the invention is to simplify the means of transmitting the force and centring the disc-shaped face cutting tip carrier on the basic body of the end face mill at a high accuracy. This object is achieved according to the invention in that each bearing surface (7), continuous up to the end face (3) of the basic body (1), for the cutting tip (2a) following a face cutting tip (5a) in every other cutting tip row (8) is a locating surface for a driving lug (6), arranged behind every other face cutting tip (5a), of the disc-shaped face cutting tip carrier (4). <IMAGE> |
