A large volume plastic container, e.g. a dustbin etc, includes a variable volume, obtd. by moving well sections. Two container wall sections have slots running from the top of the container downwards. The intermediate wall locates in the wall slots, and slats run from the slots of one wall to the slots of the other. The slot is T-shaped and is pref. closed off at one end.
