<p>PURPOSE:To reliably prevent increase of a water pressure in a hydraulic iron pipe, by a method wherein, when a pressure regulator, adapted to prevent increase of a water pressure in a hydraulic iron pipe, is inoperative, a flow rate equivalent to a flow rate throttled by the runner vane of a water turbine is discharged by opening the guide vanes of a water turbine. CONSTITUTION:A pressure regulator 5, adapted to prevent increase of a water pressure in a hydraulic iron pipe 1, is mounted to a water turbine casing casing 2, and is controlled by a hydraulic type controller 6. When guide vanes 3 are opened and closed at a speed, for example, lower than the set value of a dash pot, the pressure regulator 5 is closed. In the above constitution, when the pressure regulator 5 is inoperative, a flow rate equivalent to a flow rate throttled by a runner vane 4 of a water turbine is discharged with the guide vanes 3 of the water turbine opened. This constitution prevents increase of a water pressure in the hydraulic iron pipe 1 to prevent damage of the hydraulic iron pipe 1, and reduces production of a change in a flow rate in the hydraulic iron pipe 1.</p> |
