PURPOSE:To attain multicolor expression by providing a display control device with a pattern register for storing depicting patterns. CONSTITUTION:After inputting a parameter and calculating depicting coordinates, a color information is set up in a pattern register 40 at first. To display red for instance, x'0' is set up in a plane address part 49 and x'8800' is set up in an address register, so that the contents '1' of the MSB of the pattern register 40 are written in a plane 1(R), and the contents of the pattern register 40 are circularly shifted to left by one bit and go to 00-1. When the deviation value x'10000' of a plane 2(G) is set up in a plane address part 49 and the MSB '0' of the pattern register 40 is written, the contents of the pattern register 40 go to 0-10. Subsequently, the deviation value x'2000' of a plane 3(B) is set up in a plane address part 49 and the MSB'0' of the pattern register 40 is written to end the dot processing. Said operation is repeated up to the end point or by the number of depicting dots to depict a red straight line.
