Strip for absorbing leaks for a microwave oven seal, installed in and filling at least partially a leak path, consisting of a composite magnetic absorbing material, where the composite material consists of a ferrite powder or of a mixture of suitable ferrite powders in an organic matrix (such as a plastic, rubber or polymer), this ferrite or these ferrites having the general formula MO Fe2O3, where M is a bivalent metal such as Fe, Mn, Ni, Cu, Mz, and where this ferrite represents or these ferrites represents a total percentage by weight in the mixture of between 80 and 95%, and where this composite material does not display any resonance effect, that is to say its Q-factor is essentially equal to or less than unity in a range of frequencies equal to or larger than 2.45 GHz and, preferably, between 2.45 and 12 GHz.
