PURPOSE:To reduce the apparent deflection between an optical head and an optical disc by allowing a CPU to read a position deviation signal of a tracking outputted from the optical head via an A/D converter, storing the signal as a deflection correction data of a recording track and giving the result to a tracking control means. CONSTITUTION:The focusing is applied at an optional position on the optical disc 1, and the CPU 33 reads a tracking deviation signal obtained from an output of a differential amplifier 27 at each sector represented by a count of a sector counter 32 via an output of the A/D converter 29 through a data bus 30, applies a prescribed data processing and stores it in a RAM 35 as a deflection correction data. When the deflection correction data is obtained, the deflection is corrected by reading sequentially the deflection correction data from the RAM 35 in the recording or reproduction of the actual information.
