393,641. Piles. GARVENSWERKE MASCHINEN-, PUMPEN-UND WAAGENFABRIK W. GARVENS, 130, Handelskai, Vienna. Dec. 8, 1931, No. 34034. Convention date, Dec. 1. [Class 68 (ii).] Piles are formed in the ground by a pump-like device acting in a preparatory tube and serving to ram the concrete supplied to it. The Figure shows a tube a and a rod b provided at its lower end with a plunger c connected to a follower plunger d by guide-rods e over which the plunger e is fitted. When the parts c, d are in the dotted-line position, concrete is poured down the tube a ; it passes between the parts c, d, and is rammed by their descent. In a modification, the plunger c is cylindrical, and is guided by ribs on the part d, which is connected to the upper end of the part c by wire ropes. In making reinforced piles, there is used a part d smaller in diameter than the diameter of a reinforced cage. |
