<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the tape slack and tape carrying at the time of mode changeover without damaging a magnetic tape by providing a torque limiter delivering a constant torque to a couple of reel turntables and a lock member locking the drive of the prime mover side of the torque limiter at the changeover. CONSTITUTION:After a motor 4 is reversed for a time T1, a brake 10 held freely turnably onto a shaft 9 by an operating mode changeover means is driven to lock a limiter gear 18. Then a lever 6 is driven by the operating mode changeover means and a pinch roller 7 is parted from a capstan shaft 2. The motor 4 is stopped during this time and no magnetic tape 5 is carried. Since the timing to lock the limiter gear 18 by the brake 10 is made earlier than the timing of the pinch roller 7 parted from the capstan shaft 2, no tape slack is caused.</p> |
