Device for loading and unloading goods, especially between a vessel and a quay. According to the invention, there are two mutually parallel, mutually adjacent supporting arms 5,6 present extending from a lower loading unit 7 to an upper loading unit 8, which loading units 7,8 are arranged for both loading and unloading of goods. Each supporting arm 5,6 comprises two pairs 9,10 of parallel arms, which pairs are situated one above the other, in which each pair comprises a drive arm 11,12 arranged to support a drive chain 14 and an arm 15,16;17 which constitutes a guide rail. All of the arms 11,12;15,16 are at their respective end pivotably fastened in the loading units 7,8 so that the loading units 7,8 and the arms 11,12;15,16 form a parallelogram so that the angle of the arms to the horizontal plane can be varied whilst the loading units 7,8 remain always mutually parallel and mainly horizontal. Between mutually adjacent drive arms there are a number of lifting units 18, each comprising a loading plane 19, suspended from drive connections with the chains 14, in which each lifting unit 18 is additionally connected to mutually adjacent guide rails. The lifting units 18 are constructed such that the loading plane 19 is wholly or substantially wholly horizontal regardless of the angle between the arms and the horizontal plane. The drive chain 14 of each supporting arm 5,6 forms a closed loop, in which the chain 14 runs in the two drive arms 11,12 situated one above the other and via the lower 7 and the upper 8 loading unit. In each loading unit 7,8 the chain 14 runs over a turning wheel 40,41 in which the chain, at least close to the turning wheel 40,41, is wholly or substantially horizontal. <IMAGE> |
