PURPOSE:To obtain high permeability PD Permalloy having superior suitability to press blanking and improved DC permeability, applicable to both DC and AC and suitable for various iron cores by regulating the amounts of O and N to prescribed very small values. CONSTITUTION:High permeability PD Permalloy having superior suitability to press blanking is obtd. by regulating the amounts of C and O to 0.0010-0.0050wt% C and 0.0010-0.0030wt% O. The PD Permalloy of this invention is PD defined by JIS C2531 and consisting of 35-40wt% Ni and the balance Fe. In order to improve the corrosion and wear resistances, <=10% in total of Cr, Mo, W, Co, Ca, Mn and rare earth elements are usually added to PD. PD defined by JIS is classified into PD-1 and PD-2 and the PD Permalloy of this invention includes both kinds.
