PURPOSE:To provide a calcination unit showing no irregular baking as well as no generation of ignition and smoke by a method wherein an outer diameter of an electric heater and an outer surface temperature are set to their specified values. CONSTITUTION:An electric heater 9' fixed to a calcination case 1 through a holding plate 14 is installed below a baking net 5 on which an item to be calcinated is placed. This electric heater 9' is set to show a surface temperature higher than 700 deg.C with its outer diameter of less than 7.5mm. Since the electric heater has a small outer diameter, its contact surface is quite small and thus a dropped oil is hard to transmit. Further, due to a hot temperature, even if the dropped oil is contacted with it, the oil may splash, resulting in that no smoke and no ignition are generated. The item to be calcinated and placed on the net 5 is uniformly heated at its upper and lower surfaces by a heating means 6 and an electric heater 9', no irregular heating is performed and a short period of calcination can be obtained.
