PURPOSE:To subject many small articles to be plated to a uniform plating treatment by using a barrels which has large openings at both ends and has many draining holes for the barrel of a barrel plating device for small article plating. CONSTITUTION:The many small-sized articles 8 to be plated are put into the barrel 1 and a cathode 20 for energizing the articles 8 is brought into contact with the articles 8 in the barrel 1 where the articles are immersed into a plating bath 18. Electricity is conducted between said articles and an anode 21 by which the articles 8 are plated. The barrel 1 to be used in this stage is formed into the shape formed with the cylindrical parts 3, 3 having a circular truncated cone on both sides of the cylindrical part 2 at the center and formed with the large openings 4, 4 at both ends. The many draining holes 5 are provided to the cylindrical part 2 and the cylindrical parts 3 having the circular truncated cone shape. The barrel is rotated by a geared motor 15 and while the many articles 8 therein are oscillated, the plating liquid 18 and plating current are supplied from the larger-diameter opening 4 and therefore, the many small-sized articles to be plated are plated with high productivity and the subsequent rinsing of the articles to be plated and the putting in the out thereof are easy.
