Free-flying body catalyst

In the main application P 3534228.5, it is described that, in order to reduce NOx in combustion boilers fired with fossil fuels, porous free-flying bodies are added above the fire box which, inoculated with reducing agents, effect the reduction of NOx. In order further to improve this technology, it is proposed according to the invention that the free-flying body catalysts be introduced in a gas stream which is only partly desulphurised, if at all, and the actual desulphurisation be completed after the NOx separation.
