The liquid reservoirs of writing implements are constantly plagued by the problem that as a rule only half of the volume of writing liquid accommodated is delivered during the writing process and that liquid is pressed out of the discharging aperture when the container accommodating the writing liquid is heated, which leads to the discontinuous delivery of writing liquid, for example by the formation of drops. To remedy this disadvantage, a liquid reservoir is proposed which comprises a tank (11) which is open to the surrounding air (21), is filled by means of a capillary storage means (14), is connected to a nib/printing tip (15) and is coupled via a connecting tube (12) to a closed tank (10) for accommodating a writing liquid (13). The aperture (17), projecting into the open tank, of the connecting tube (12) comes into contact with the capillary storage means (14), forming a two-way valve (22). <IMAGE>
