The invention relates to an oil filtering system, especially for a vacuum pump, comprising an oil pump which pushes the oil through an oil filter into an oil purging vessel, the oil purging vessel being purged with an inert gas. The oil pump is formed by a pneumatic oil delivery cylinder (4) and a piston (5) which, in the cylinder, separates an inert gas space (6) from an oil space (3) and is displaced by the inert gas against the force of a spring (12). The inert gas is fed in via a cyclically reversed electromagnetic three-way valve (8) which alternately connects the gas space (6) in the cylinder with an inert gas source (7) and with the oil purging vessel (9). <IMAGE>
