In a method for enhancing the human performance it is proposed that the performance is enhanced by the deliberate action of music in such a manner that the frequency of the rhythm underlying the music and the frequency of the cardiac rhythm are brought into a harmonic, preferably integral, frequency ratio. A device has an electronic device (3) for playback of the music and comprising a means (6) for changing the playback speed, a device (1) for the measurement of the heart rate with a pulse sensor (32) and a device (4), which can be preferably connected to the playback unit (3), for the measurement of the rhythm frequency. <IMAGE>
