PURPOSE:To prevent the falsification and rewriting of read-out magnetic information by freely setting an information format recorded on a magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:Due to the rotation of the stepping motor 6X of the 1st moving mechanism 4X, a lead shaft 9X rotates to attain movement in the X axis direction of a magnetic head 2. At that time a lead shaft 9Y moves integrally, whereby the 2nd moving mechanism 4Y moves on a slide shaft 3Y. The 2nd moving mechanism 4Y operates in the similar manner, and the magnetic head 2 can freely move in the directions of X and Y axes. Accordingly magnetic information can be written and reat at any positions and in any directions of a magnetic card 1.
