PURPOSE:To hold the electrostatic charging potential of a drum constant without using any correcting circuit by providing a heater which has a negative temperature gradient in an electrostatic charging corotron. CONSTITUTION:The heater 13 has the negative temperature gradient, so when the ambient temperature rises, the power consumption of the heater 13 increases. For the purpose, the heater 13 having a resistance value wit the negative temperature gradient corresponding to the decrease rate of the electrostatic charging potential of the drum due to a temperature rise is fitted to the electrostatic charging corotron 13 to make the electrostatic charging potential of the drum constant regardless of temperature.
