PURPOSE:To obtain a ferrite of the Mn-Zn system having a low magnetic loss characteristic by containing CaO, Nb2O5, V2O5 in a basic composition composed of Fe2O3, MnO, ZnO. CONSTITUTION:In a basic composition composed of 50-70mol% of Fe2O3, 10-40mol% of MnO and 5-30mol% of ZnO, 0.005-0.3wt% of CaO, 0.005-0.25wt% of Nb2O5 and 0.06-0.2wt% of V2O5 are contained. With the basic composition other than this composition, permeability is very small, and coercive force also becomes too large, so it is not practical as a soft magnetic material. CaO is added for obtaining a low magnetic loss, but if it is less than 0.005wt%, the electric resistance becomes small, and if it exceeds 0.3wt%, an abnormal texture is easy to occur. Nb2O5 provide an excellent magnetic characteristic by composite addition with CaO, but if it is less 0.005wt%, no effect is obtained, and if it exceeds 0.25wt%, an abnormal texture is easy to occur at the time of sintering. If V2O5 is less than 0.06wt%, the electric resistance becomes small and the magnetic loss becomes large, and if V2O5 exceeds 0.2wt%, an abnormal crystal grows at the time of sintering and the magnetic loss also becomes large.
