<p>PURPOSE:To apply the same print as the printing by a few print element head by grouping part of print elements of a dot printer in operation into number of control signals and driving print elements of each group in common. CONSTITUTION:In printing many characters based on a command from an external electronic device 26, for example, a character code signal relating to characters by one line at first, stored temporarily in a RAM 30, each character code signal is read sequentially from the RAM 30 in a CPU 28, a character of each group is read sequentially from a ROM 29 at each character and outputted to an output interface 31. A thermal head 12 (24 pin head) is controlled by using a control signal to control an 8-pin head 100, 20 pins p1-p20 arranged continuously in 24-pin head as shown in figure are grouped into 8 groups G1-G8 by the combination of 3-pin and 2-pin corresponding to the 8-pins P1-P8 of the 8-pin head.</p> |
