PURPOSE:To optionally set a cooling condition and to improve characteristics of a product by providing plural cooling water jetting nozzles directed to the to and bottom surfaces of a hot rolling steel plate and providing high speed three-way selector valves on the pipe lines from a water feed header. CONSTITUTION:A steel plate 1 with different thicknesses is carried at a high speed through carrying rolls 2 and restricting rolls 3. A number of rotation detector 4 detecting a carrying speed and a position of the plate 1 and plural cooling water jetting nozzles 6 are set on the roll 2 and the header 5, respectively. High speed three-way selector valves 7 are also set on respective cooling water feed lines. A carrying controller 17 detects the position of the plate 1 through the detector 4, controls the selector valves 7 as the valves 7 are previously set, and selects the nozzles 6 to cool the plate 1. The cooling condition matched to requirements of the plate 1 is optionally set in this method and characteristics of a product are improved. |
