PURPOSE:To record a magnetic lattice in a state that an output variation and a lattice pitch error are minimum, by impressing a recording current of the same polarity to a magnetic head at every recording wavelength, so that the magnetic lattice can be formed. CONSTITUTION:A pulse current impressed to a recording head is positioned exactly by a laser length measuring instrument, etc., and in accordance with a wavelength lambda, a pulse of the same polarity of positive or negative is made to flow continuously, and recording is executed. A magnetic field distribution of a recording head, which is generated when a pulse current shown in a figure (a) flows to its recording head becomes as shown by a broken line in a figure (b), and a detection output which is obtained after recording of a magnetic lattice has been ended becomes a sine wave in which an impressed position of the pulse current and a peak output of the magnetic lattice have coincided, as shown by a full line. When the magnetic lattice is formed in this way, a recording interval can be set to two times thereby, comparing with a conventional method and a magnetic interference is decreased, and a phase shift is scarcely generated. Accordingly, even if saturation recording by which an output is scarcely varied is executed, no lattice error is generated, the accuracy is improved, also the variance is decreased, and the productivity is improved.
