A method for producing timber units starts out from at least one elongate timber element 1, 2 in which cuts 4 are made in its longitudinal direction such that four elongate elements 5 with the cross section of right- angled triangles are obtained. Material is cut away from each element 5 along its entire length in the longitudinal direction, along two lines 6 which are essentially parallel to each edge of its cross-sectional triangle, so that two plane surfaces 9 essentially at right angles to each other and extending along the entire length of the element are formed in the element 5, and these elements 5 are glued together by being turned so that their plane surfaces 9 come to bear against each other, and the cross section of the timber unit 10 thus formed is essentially rectangular, with the right-angled corner of each of the earlier triangles forming an outer corner of the timber unit, as a result of which the four elements 5 come to delimit an inner cavity 11 extending in the longitudinal direction of the timber unit and provided with four plane walls.

|
