PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition containing extract of mycelia of Cortinellus shiitake as an active component and especially effective in suppressing the proliferation of bacteria and improving immunity of the skin itself. CONSTITUTION:Cortinellus shiitake is inoculated in a solid medium containing baggasse as a base and the mycelia are proliferated to obtain a solid medium containing mycelia. The medium is disintegrated, added with water and optionally an enzyme such as cellulase and crushed and ground to effect the extraction of the active component. After the extraction treatment, the product is heated at 95 deg.C to inactivate the enzyme and sterilize the medium and obtain an extract of the mycelia of Cortinellus shiitake. The objective beauty wash composition for the remedy of atopic dermatitis can be produced by adding the extract as an active component to a composition containing a humectant such as an alcohol (e.g. ethanol), glycerol, etc., an emollient such as ester oil and other solubilizing agent, etc. The composition gives extremely low irritation to the skin, has remarkably high safety and imparts smoothness and moistness to the skin. |
