In a device for determining the position of a position transmitter (1) having a scanning light source (4), a light-detecting arrangement (6) is provided which has fluorescence collecting rods (20, 21, 22, 23) whose collecting faces (8) can be exposed to the light of the light source (4) and which each have a light detector (29, 30, 31, 32) at at least one edge surface. The light detectors (29, 30, 31, 32) are connected to an evaluation device (34 to 38) which has a display device (39).
