So that, in an apparatus, designated as a hot flue, for continuous heat treatment of web-shaped textile material, with a housing having two rows of rollers arranged in the latter at a distance from one another, the material content of the housing can be matched to the requirements of transport speed and/or treatment temperature with the effect of a termination of treatment exactly at the exit of the housing, means for varying the distance between one entire row of rollers and the other row of rollers are provided.
