<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a generation of an air bubble due to a heat cycle and a peeling of a sealing agent by effecting the heat treatments of a vertical orientation agent and a sealing agent at the same time. CONSTITUTION:The insulating film made of SiO2 is provided on a glass substrate forming a transparent electrode thereon. The obtd. substrate is dipped in an alcohol solution of C18H37Si(OC2H5)3 and then is taken out from said solution followed by evaporating the solvent to form a coating film of C18H37Si(OC2H5)3 on the substrate. The two sheets of the obtd. glass substrates are laminated with each other after coating a surroundings of said substrate with an epoxy sticking agent, followed by heat-treating said substrates in a thermostat of 120 deg.C for 40min. The titled element is formed by injecting the liquid crystal which dissolves a dichroic dyestuff to a negative dielectric anisotropic nematic liquid crystal in the cell formed as mentioned above.</p> |
