PURPOSE:To precisely project a laser beam for excitation in the desired position to be excited by a method wherein the sidewall of the dye cell is partially constituted of a square columnar lens having a unidirectional refractive index distribution and the laser beam for excitation is projected into this square columnar lens through an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A dye cell 12 having the sidewall partially constituted of a square columnar lens 13 having a unidirectional refractive index distribution, a laser oscillator 6 for excitation which excites a dye laser medium 12a being encapsulated or circulated this dye cell 12 and an optical fiber 11 which guides a laser beam L1 to be excited from this laser oscillator 6 for excitation to the part of the square columnar lens 13 are provided. By this constitution, the laser beam L1 emitted from the laser oscillator 6 for excitation, for example, is made to have a prescribed incident angle by a condensing lens 10 is projected in the optical fiber 11. The laser beam L1 is guided through this optical fiber 11 and is projected into the part of the square columnar lens 13. Out of this laser beam L1 entered, the one only in the thickness direction is focused and is condensed in the dye solution 12a being encapsulated or circulated in the dye cell 12 in a slit form. |
