The invention relates to a motor vehicle having a power supply, which is independent of the drive source of the said vehicle and uses solar energy, for certain vehicle assemblies, the device (9) for using solar energy being arranged in the region of a sliding roof (3) of the motor vehicle. So that this device (9) is removed from any disturbing and damaging influences in an especially simple fashion, and furthermore so as not to have a deleterious influence on the appearance of the motor vehicle, according to the invention the said device (9) is arranged on a sliding inside roof lining (5) of a sliding roof (3) which comprises two roof surfaces.
