PURPOSE:To obtain a vulcanizing adhesive composition capable of bonding metal to fluororubber firmly and stably, by mixing a novolak epoxy resin, a novolak phenolic resin, and a curing agent for a novolak phenolic resin. CONSTITUTION:An objective vulcanizing adhesive composition is obtained by mixing as essential components a novolak epoxy resin (A) obtained by reacting a novolak resin with epichlorohydrin to form glycidyl ether from the phenolic hydroxyl group, a novolak phenolic resin (B) obtained by reacting phenols with formaldehyde in the presence of an acid catalyst, and a curing agent (C) for component B (e.g., hexamethylenetetramine). This composition is applied on a metal such as aluminum or copper and is then brought into contact with an unvulcanized fluororubber, which are pressed against each other to vulcanize the rubber at its vulcanization temperature. The bonded object thus obtained will not undergo separation even when treated at high temperatures.
