PURPOSE:To reduce manhour for machining a drum, improve accuracy, and prevent a sheet from being floatingly wound by providing a sheet end holding bar having a holding surface which is parallel to a drum axis while facing the outer peripheral surface of said drum across a minute gap. CONSTITUTION:When a sheet end holding pin 11 is separated form a holding face 10A by rotating a cam 15, the end of a sheet 8 which has been conveyed is inserted in between the holding face 10A and the holding pin 11. Then, the cam 15 is rotated by means of a string, to push up the sheet end holding pin 11. Thereby, the end of the pin 11 brings the sheet 8 into pressure contact with the holding surface 10A, to hold the sheet end. And, a drum 1 is rotated counterclockwise winding the sheet 8 on its outer peripheral surface, and, after that, the rotation is continued for the reading or recording of a document. Since the pin 11 is brought into pressure contact with the holding face 10A during rotation, the sheet can be securely held.
