PURPOSE:To obtain the titled sealing material excellent in capability of pressure- resistant sealing, by crosslinking a gas-impermeable rubber subjected to primary crosslinking with an organic peroxide by irradiation with a radiation. CONSTITUTION:A gas-impermeable rubber (e.g., acrylonitrile/butadiene rubber) is subjected to primary crosslinking with an organic peroxide [e.g., 1,3-bis(tert- butylperoxyisopropyl)benzene] at about 160-200 deg.C for about 1-120min and, if necessary, crosslinked by heating and further crosslinked by irradiation with about 1-100 Mrad, preferably, about 5-60 Mrad of Co60 gamma-rays in the presence of, optionally, a polyfunctional compound (e.g., tetrahydrofurfuryl methacrylate)]. |
