The invention relates to a method for protecting a percussion-hammer mill against overload, at least one load-specific operating parameter of the mill being recorded by measurement, and the throughput of the mill in terms of grinding material or its degree of filling being set according to the load-specific measured value recorded, and the mill being relieved by means of corresponding measures, in which - the working noises generated by the mill according to the load are recorded electroacoustically and are converted into electrical signals - the electrical signals are processed in terms of their frequency modulation and/or intensity and are filtered accordingly in each particular case, - limit values are predetermined as desired or threshold values for the processed electrical signals, and these limit values are compared with the signals, and - if the desired or threshold values are exceeded, measures for changing the load of the mill are initiated, and to a device for protecting a percussion-hammer mill. <IMAGE> |
