PURPOSE:To simplify comparatively the constitution of a hardware in case of constructing a network system, by providing a data converting means for converting a series transmitted data to a parallel data, and an address comparing means for executing the coincidence comparison of a transfer destination address and its own address. CONSTITUTION:A series data transmitted through a LAN (local area network) cable 11a is supplied to a serial/parallel converting circuit 13 through a receiving buffer 12 and converted to a parallel data. A destination address in the converted parallel data is supplied to an address comparator circuit 14, and the coincidence comparison of the destination address and its own address put in advance to its own station is executed. When the coincidence of both the addresses is detected by the comparator circuit 14, a DMA controller 15 is started. When the result of comparison is a dissidence and the serial data transmitted through the LAN cable 11a is not addressed to its own station, the serial data received by the receiving buffer 12 is outputted to an LAN cable 11b through an OR circuit 18 and a transmitting buffer 19.
