PURPOSE:To simplify the structure in a pure metal V-belt to be used for a continuous variable transmission or the like, by using a projecting member held between upper and lower endless steel strips as a connection member for rotatably connecting each segment with its adjacent segment. CONSTITUTION:A lateral projecting member 2 is provided adjacent to the upper ends of segments 1a, 1b and 1c of a V-belt. The projecting member 2 is designed to roll each segment about a line on a surface of its adjacent segment and flexibly curve the V-belt when the V-belt passes through a V-shaped groove of a continuous variable pulley. Each segment is held between upper and lower endless steel strips 3 and 4, and the projecting member 2 is rotatably supported by the endless steel strips 3 and 4. Accordingly, a plurality of segments may be regularly connected, thereby simplifying the whole structure.
