PURPOSE:To prepare the titled drug preparation having mitigated side effects such as renal toxicity, by compounding a penem-type or carbapenem-type antibiotic substance with an ornithine or lysine derivative. CONSTITUTION:The penem-type or carbapenem-type antibiotic substance such as the compound of formula I [X is CH2, S, -C(CH3)H-, etc.; R<1> is -CH2CH3, -CH2CH2F, group of formula II, etc.] is compounded with an ornithine or lysine derivative such as the compound of formula III (n is 3 or 4; R<2> and R<3> are H, acyl or alkoxycarbonyl; R<2> and R<3> are not H at the same time) to obtain the titled drug preparation having mitigated side effect. The amount of the ornithine or lysine derivative is preferably 1/10-4pts.wt. per 1pt. of the antibiotic substance. The renal toxicity of the substance can be mitigated remarkably. |
