PURPOSE:To prevent a dye image from diffusing in directions other than the direction of a receiving sheet and improve the difference in coefficient of thermal expansion between a transfer sheet and a dye gas penetration preventing sheet and the adhesion between the sheets, by using a silicone resin sheet as the dye gas penetration preventing sheet. CONSTITUTION:A dye gas penetration preventing sheet 4 and a receiving sheet 5 are laid respectively on the dye image 3 side and the porous base 2 side of a transfer sheet 1. When heat is applied by, for example, irradiation with IR rays hnu from the sheet 4 side, a heat-sublimable dye image 3 on the transfer sheet 1 is sublimed, and penetrates through a dye gas permeable porous base 2, whereby it is transferred onto the receiving sheet 5 to form a non-reversed transferred image 6. The sheet 4 prevents the dye image 3 from diffusing in directions other than the direction of the receiving sheet 5 at the time of thermal transfer. Since a silicone resin sheet is used as the sheet 4, the difference in coefficient of thermal expansion between the sheet 4 and the transfer sheet 1 is small, and the adhesion between the sheet 4 and the sheet 1 is enhanced. |
