PURPOSE:To make it possible to surely perform the changing operation of setting without sacrificing operability by a method wherein a remote controller to control the running of an air conditioner is housed and the reception of signals, except that is inputted within the predetermined period of time since the setting input operation is done at a timer device, is prohibited. CONSTITUTION:First, a set switch 3 is operated so as to prepare for correction. As a result, an input limiting timer (timed measuring means), which employs signals sent from an oscillator part 11 as reference clock, operates for about 5 seconds. When an operating switch 5 to operate 'minute' is turned ON within the set time of the input limiting timer, the indication of 'minute' in a display unit 2 is advanced by '1'. Further, when the turning ON of the switch 5 lasts for about 4 seconds, a measuring timer detects about 2 seconds since the turning-ON operation of the switch and the numeral of 'minute' is indicated on the display unit 2 at high speed while being changed in continuous numerical order until the switch 5 is turned OFF. After that, when the operating switch 5 is turned OFF, the input limiting timer counts about 5 seconds since the turning-OFF of the switch 5. After 5 seconds, a time is set in a LSI 1 and at the same time a reception prohibiting means is put into actuation so that no signal is input processed, even the operating switch 5 is further operated directly.
