PURPOSE:To enhance both strength and damping effect of the captioned steel, by arranging a pair of longitudinally checkered steel plates, both of which have projected parts and recessed parts, in such a manner that the striped patterns of both steels are faced in the crossing direction with each other and the spaces thereof are filled with a damping material. CONSTITUTION:Two sheets of longitudinally checkered steel plates 1 and 1 are positioned in such a manner that the directions of striped patterns, which are formed by the projected part 4 and recessed part 5, respectively, are intersected with each other at an angle of 90 deg.. In addition, the projected parts 4 and 4 of the said two sheets, which correspond to each other, are brought into direct contact. In addition, a space 6, which is formed by each recessed part 5, is filled with a damping material 7. For this damping material 7, organic material such as synthetic resin, rubber, etc., graphite-family material such as flexible graphite, or non-organic material such as mortar, ceramics, etc. are used. With this contrivance, both strength and damping effect of the compound steel can be enhanced. |
