PURPOSE:To prevent a variable speed drive from generating heat to improve its efficiency of transmission by eccentrically positioning the rotative shaft center of a disc. CONSTITUTION:A continuously variable transmission (A) is composed of a driving disc 14 made of a rigid body and a driven disc 15 which is pressed against the disc 14 and has a peripheral part 15 formed of elastic material. Power is transmitted from a bevel mechanism 4 to the driving disc 14, and a pressing spring 16 is provided on the back side of the driving disc 14. The pressing plane (S) of the driven disc 15 is positioned in parallel to the rotative shaft center (P) of a spline shaft 18 and on a rotational upper side of the driving disc 14 to a virtual line extending from the rotative shaft center (Q) of the driving disc 14, and is arranged in approximate coincidence with an end edge (Sp) parallel to the rotative shaft center (P) of the spline shaft 18 for the pressing plane (S). Consequently, slip can be reduced to prevent the generation of heat.
