PURPOSE:To prevent an engine stop by increasing the number of idle revolution of the engine when trouble to make lock-up cancellation impossible occurs. CONSTITUTION:A turbine rotation signal (a), throttle opening signal (b), and range signal (c) are inputted into a control circuit 30 as a signal used for speed change control and lock-up control. The said signals turn on or off solenoid valves for speed change 34-36 to execute the speed change control, and turn on or off a lock-up solenoid valve 29 to control a lock-up clutch. When a detecting part 30c detects trouble to make lock-up cancellation impossible, it issues a driving signal (d) to a solenoid valve 43 for idling up to cause a load passage 44 to communicate, and thereby a throttle valve 5 is opened to a fixed quantity.
