PURPOSE:To execute an area labeling at a high speed by executing a labeling of a separated picture of a binary picture data, and simultaneously executing a shape limit and a shape inspection of the separated picture. CONSTITUTION:When a binary picture is inputted to a connection inspecting part 22 by scanning, a base label number to which its connecting propertly has been added is written in a connection table 38. Subsequently, a labeled picture data is inputted to a line block buffer and stored. A label output part 30 checks whether a column of a corresponding label output table is ''1'' or ''0'' from a picture data outputted from the line block buffer 24. Only the picture data of a label number corresponding to ''1'' is made effective, and a base label number fetched from the connection table in accordance with said label number is outputted. Also, the picture data of a label number corresponding to ''0'' is made ineffective, and a signal ''0'' is outputted. |
