PURPOSE:To automatically detect whether or not a camera is in prefocus photographic mode or not by performing a range measuring operation again right before the start of releasing operation as the releasing operation is performed. CONSTITUTION:A switch SW 1 is turned on with a main object placed in the center of an image surface, and then a logic control circuit 4 generates an actuation signal to start the range measuring operation by a range measuring circuit 5, thereby generating the measurement signal of the range up to the main object. At this time, the range measurement signal is stored in a register 6. Then photography is started with a switch SW 2. Then, the circuit 4 generates an actuation signal again to perform the range measuring operation again by the circuit 5 before exposing operation is started, and the range measurement signal obtained this time is sent to a register 7. A coincidence detecting circuit 11 compares the 1st range measurement signal inputted from the register 6 with the 2nd range measurement signal from the register 7 and decides that composition altering operation is not performed when the both coincide with each other, thereby outputting a high-level signal to the other input terminal of a NAND gate 16. |
